Dr. Katial is a full-time staff physician and associate professor of medicine in the pision of allergy and clinical immunology at the National Jewish Medical and Research Center. After earning his Doctor of Medicine from Georgetown University School of Medicine in Washington, D.C., Dr. Katial joined the U.S. Army Medical Corps. He completed his residency training in internal medicine at Eisenhower Army Medical Center in Augusta, Ga. He went on to complete allergy-immunology subspecialty training at Fitzsimons Army Medical Center and National Jewish Medical and Research Center in Denver, Colo. After leaving Denver, he competed an additional year of training in clinical laboratory immunology at Walter Reed Army Medical Center in Washington, D.C.
Dr. Katial is board-certified by the American Board of Internal Medicine, American Board of Allergy & Immunology with specialty certification in clinical laboratory immunology. He is a fellow of the American Academy of Allergy, Asthma & Immunology, a fellow of the American College of Allergy, Asthma & Immunology, as well as a fellow of the American College of Physicians. Dr. Katial has received numerous military commendations for his clinical, teaching and research contributions. He reports that he has received funding from Aventis and GlaxoSmithKline.
